Back in Albuquerque 5,880 Miles Later

Leaving San Antonio, we drove to El Paso to spend the night. It's an eight-hour drive across pretty much barren land on I-10 with an 80 miles-per-hour speed limit. We stopped a few times, but tried to minimize the number of stops since the gear shift handle was misbehaving. It worked just fine some times, then gets stuck other times. We were able to get it out of park every time, but I worried that it would eventually stick and not be able to move.

We spent last night at the Embassy Suites in El Paso. It is right on the highway and was not overrun with children as has happened other times we have stayed at other Embassy Suites. The other guests looked to be mostly business travelers. We used a digital key for the first time by signing into the HHonors app and unlocking the door when we got close to it. The room was fairly close to the elevator, and the button to unlock the room popped up as soon as we left the elevator.

Today we drove the rest of the way home, unloaded the car, and took it in for repair right away. So glad we made it without having to have the work done on the road. We met Erin for a late lunch as the last event on this trip. The t-shirt that Erin is wearing in the photo with Phil is one that we got at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I didn't notice until we got home and I saw her wearing it that the wording on it has grammatical mistakes. (Or spelling mistakes if you want to be generous.) It says: "If its too loud, your too old." I wonder if they know.
