Tuna Salad Niciose ALBUQUERQUE!! AWESOME DAY!!
So we woke up, chilled out a bit.. took it easy for once. I slept later than 7 for the first time. Then as we're leaving the hotel, dad started off the day nice and early with a mentionable quote:
Dad: I haven't tasted any yet so I don't know if they're as good as the ones back home
(Referring to the month infestation in our motel) HAH. oh, dad.
We went to this AWESOMEE Market/Cafe place. MMM, totally my style. Fresh, organic, healthy food. FINALLY! I took a picture I was so excited lol. It was bomb. I got Tuna Salad Niciose and Jasmine Green Tea and was completely happy.
The plan was to do something in Albuquerque for the day and take a little break from driving, see whats up out west. So we decided to go to the world's longest tram - 2.7 miles to the top, panoramic view of 11,000 sq. miles, to a mountain 10,685 ft. in the air. It turned out to be an AWESOME idea. The ride to the top is 15 mins long and when you get there theres a bunch of trails you can take, all leading different ways. We decided to take the adventurous trail (cause SCREW the tourist trail) to

Tram - this is how we got up the mountain this mountain store about 2 miles away, and higher in the air. The trail we took was right along the edge of the mountain - I don't know how you don't have to sign a waver beforehand lol because I bet they seriously loose some people to the side of this mountain. Dad like stubbed his toe on a rock and stumbled a little and I go to him:
Listen, just don't fall cause that would really suck.
The hike was SO SWEET. Oh my god. I was in heaven. It was so awesome. The pictures don't even do it justice. The weather was PERFECT, sun was out but had a cool mountain breeze and the air was so freshhhh up there. It was a slightly downward slope at first then when you branch off to head to the mountain store a pretty steep upward climb. I LOVED it. Met some cool people along the way too.. all pretty serious hikers. Some with dogs. It was really fun.
Dad proceeded to say some real hilarious stuff, so I'll add them to the day's quote collection.
Dad: I'm not very susceptible to poison ivy. I used to pick it up and put it in squirt guns
Me: You're and asshole!!!!
HAHAHA
Dad: My vertigo feels trippy soooo... I'm having FUN!
LMAO! OMG, I can't breathe.
So we got to the
mountain store, spent a little time there, got some souvenirs for people, and headed out. We decided to take the easier hike back, not because it was easier, but because backtracking is no fun.. we're in New Mexico man.. trying to see NEW shit. It started getting cooollldd up there so I handed off my backpack to my dad and started jogging down the trail. GREAT idea. Warmed me up and felt awesome - I haven't run in weeeeeks so I was really happy to be back at it. The trail would go from flat to rocky to downhill to uphill and I just kept going - rock hopping at top speed having a grand old time hahaha. I think I got in some hikers' way but SCREW 'EM. Hah.
I met back up with dad at the bar near the top of the other mountain where the tram leads to. We decided it was definitely time for some cocktailsss (clearly, we hadnt had our fix for the day yet) so we chilled out there for a while and fixed ourselves up. I met this cool chick whose a bar manager for fox&hound. She works in New Orleans but
got sent to Albuquerque for three weeks to help out with some stuff at that branch. Sounds pretty sweeet I want that job!!
So then we headed back down the mountain and hit the road again. Only drove for about 2 or 3 hours because it was getting dark and we didn't want to miss too many cool sights along the way. We're about two hours from Flagstaff now, which is the town that brings us to the Grand Canyon. Next day or so should be pretty Coooool I'll keep ya posted!!
Kisses to everyone. Miss you's. <3
