Mackinaw City is on the tip of the peninsula of lower half of Michigan and is, in fact the jumping off place to get to the Upper Peninsula. Thanks
Marty, I love all of your blogs. You have had quite the adventure. Being from Michigan, I worked on the island and on a ferry boat summers during college. Lots of parties at British Landing on the other side of the island. And it was easy to run from the police who were on bikes. It is a very magical, beautiful and spiritual place. I always feel at total peace when in "the land of the great Manitou." I am still working at hospice and remember you and Arnie so well. Right now I am heading to MI via the Mississippi River via Minneapolis and MI's Upper Penninsula. Great pictures.
