If you want to go ashore in Plymouth, I highly recommend that you make a reservation at the Brewers Marina. You will have more chance of getting a space if you go there mid-week, rather than on a nice summer week-end.
There is a very pleasant restaurant right in the marina and a nice breakfast-place two minutes walk up the street. Once you head into town, there are restaurants and shops of every kind.
Your other choices for staying in Plymouth harbor are described in my previous blog. The harbormaster does have some moorings “inside the breakwater” but today he had none there that would take a 34-foot sailboat.
