Why am I doing this?

Over the last couple of years I have moved from being a passive observer as my wife planned our vacations into a more engaged participant. I still have a long way to go before I become a full partner, but I'm getting there...

As we have planned our vacations we have enjoyed reading the blogs of other travelers. They have made us more excited about, and have given us specific insight into, our upcoming trips. Last year, for example, we loved reading the blogs of people who had visited the Galapagos on the Samba before we did so ourselves.

Now I would like to give a little back, so I will be posting about my vacations and other travels. Currently, I am working on a full fledged posting on a recent visit to the Azores, but first I will be posting some old content I wrote for other sources on trips to Mozambique and the Galapagos.

I hope that you can find something that you like or that inspires you to visit the places we have visited.
