I finished my six week Arabic language course in Fez, Morocco, and have since returned to Kansas. However, I finished that course more than two weeks ago and covered quite a bit of Morocco during that time, quickly followed with a rapid tour of Lisbon and a re-entry into regular routes through Northeast Kansas. Jimmy and I hiked well beyond the falls to get away from the crowd. We were well rewarded with quieter pools to dip our feet in and open trails. We scrambled over some rocks and enjoyed a beautiful point of view of the gorge beyond.

Jimmy and I stopped at a fort constructed on a hill overlooking Fez during a guided tour of the town. This is pretty much the center of the city.

On my walk home from school I stopped at this fresh-squeezed orange juice stand almost daily. It was the perfect refreshment.

My host maman often babysat her grandson, an almost-two-year-old terror named Rida. I had to take the last couple of steps slowly so that he could get into position to scare me every single time!
