The columbus controversy keeps coming up in discussion " should we celebrate columbus, should we not". Well this article argue that we should not celebrate his "discovery". Basically, all the damage and the enslavement almost wiped out the entire population of the Indians in the americas.

2. What is your reaction or opinion to this?

My background knowledge before this was he treated them harshly. However, I did not know the situation was this bad. It really change my perspectives of this day. I think columbus day should be ban ASAP because they're giving credit to this guy that enslaved and killed people. It also shows me as a american citizen that we should pick our heros more closely.

3.How does it connect to class? Explain.

I think the Columbus day controversy connects to class because it gives use a incite of how america was discovered and the things they thought about than can change over time.
