1. GPS is used very often in the modern day world. However, our minds are very capable of creating mental maps. There are also a lot of negatives to GPS. Similar to playing a musical instrument, after you stop playing for a while, you may forget how to play.

2. I think that it makes a lot sense. Even though GPS does come in handy, the ability to creat mental maps is a skill that should be valued and is sometimes more reliable than a GPS.

3. This can relate to the class because, in the past, explorers did not have GPS. They had to rely on their own mapping skills. For examples they might have memorized where certain landmarks were in order to know how to get somewhere successfully
