Hind Ahmas’ veil is different from the other Muslim veil because she violated France’s burqa ban. She went out in public with a niqab which covers the body from head to toe. She is unable to wear her veil because the law forbids covering faces for religious reasons. She feels like they are taking away her rights because she has been wearing a niqab for eight years. She doesn’t feel they should take her human rights away. The two major reasons the defenders support are that they’re participating the French society and liberates from woman oppression. They think it’s okay to let people hide their faces because they feel like the people have the right to express themselves. I don’t think that the government should be able to decide what constitutes female oppression because I think that women should be able to express themselves by religion or in any other way. The government should not have control on how people dress or do.
