Edit Blog Post
It appears that the last blog wasn’t received by many, so therefore it is sent again.
We had a very special visit. Pat and John Olson came from the Upper Peninsula to spend a couple days with us. The Olsons did the loop twice and we shared some good moments with them on our first loop. We took advantage of their car and went near Grand Rapids to meet also former loopers and it was a time to reminisce about some good souvenirs of all the places visited.
giclait partout.
Since we had a short night and we saw that all flags were hardly moving, but the weather forecast was for high winds. We decided to give it a try and getting out of the inlet was to worse part. Because of wind direction change, this resulted in a mix bag of waves coming from all directions. Overall, it was good navigation and we were happy to have left.
The next morning, a beautiful one, and it was our best condition on the Lake yet. St. Joseph - Benton is an industrial city with a very active port with tugs and barges. To our great surprise, a 700 foot laker came in the harbor to discharge a load of gravel and the only way out, it had to back up in a very narrow passage and for at least a mile, very impressive and also, how fast it went to self unload its cargo.
