Our first hello from Chicago!!
Notre 1er salut de... Chicago!!
The windy city; la ville des vents!
We left Lansing, the capital of Michigan, for Chicago.
We decided to pay Chicago a visit and celebrate the historic beginning of Route 66: Intersection of Michigan & Adams Ave downtown Chicago, although the staff at Lou Mitchell’s diner claim that the real beginning of Route 66 took place in front of their restaurant established in 1923 and where we had great burgers and fries!
Very nice day today, much warmer than yesterday, to celebrate Mother’s day! We rode to Joliet on secondary roads finally and stopped at Willow Crossing Tavern for a much needed beer before heading to Joliet. A late dinner at Lone Star steak (delicious steak surprisingly) served by the tallest waitress (6’2”) on the planet (in America, do like the Americans!).
Belle journée aujourd'hui, plus chaud qu'hier et ensoleillée! 365kms de route dont les derniers 65 sans casque: yeah! Demain, on attaque la Route 66 finalement! Yeah!
