Entering Salt Lake City
Heading to the nearest Costco for roast chicken.. We left Beaver, Utah and got on the road for the final stretch (for Beth and me, anyway). The weather was gloriously cool all the way to Salt Lake City. We stopped in Sandy at the local Costco, gassed up, snagged some of their roast chicken for lunch, which we had right there in the parking lot and then got on the highway.
Tangent here: Costco has the best roast chicken! The chickens are always big, plump, and juicy. They are only $4.99 to boot! Beth and I can eat on one of their chickens for at least three meals - a screaming deal!!
There is not much to report on this stretch as I have driven it quite a few times in my life. I would have liked to have stopped in Rupert to visit with my Dad and show Sara & Vincenzo my hometown. Unfortunately we were anxious to get home so we bypassed the ol' homestead.
Sara and Vincenzo stayed with us for a few days and then hit the road. While they were here we gave them a whirlwind look at life in the potato state. A Johnny Lang concert, boating & skiing in McCall, horseback riding,

doing some reading because we're both familiar with this stretch of the road... fishing, and eating an excellent burger n fries at our favorite pub & grill. Sara & Vincenzo left and we promised to visit them in Ventura, CA after they settle in...
