Planning stages - under 30 days to go!

It finally hit me yesterday that we were at the 30 day mark for embarking on our trip to Hawaii! I haven't even read all of the materials I received, how could this be happening so fast? There is so much information, its almost overwhelming! Its a good overwhelming though because no matter what, how could anything we do in Hawaii be terrible?

Right now, these are our general plans:

We arrive in Ohau at 1:40pm on Sunday, 10/14/12; which happens to be our 12th wedding anniversary.

We have reservations at the Embassy Suites Beachwalk, Waikiki; utilizing hotel points from Rocky's business travels and some cash for the days we didn't have enough points for. This hotel is right in the middle of a busy tourist area with shopping and restaurants on site, plus the beach itself is about a block walk away. So, we are staying 5 nights but paying for 2 nights.....great deal!

On Friday, 10/19; we fly to Maui for a 6 night stay. We have no more points to use here so "se la vie" as they say in France!

Next blog I'll detail our itinerary as I have it. Some of it is planned, most of it not so we are finalizing a few things. There is so much to see and do in Hawaii that I hope we can get a good example of everything in the 11 full days we'll have there!

We are trying to cram a lot of stuff into this trip since we won't know when we'll get back, plus, its been oh, about 41 years since I've been back to Hawaii so I'd like to see how the place changed! hahaha.....yes, we are going to try to see the old Navy Base that has since been closed down where we used to live (Barber's Point, HI).

So, while our blog from Europe was a flop because of the internet connections, perhaps we'll have more luck with this one!
