Rolling Day
Roll ‘ em out, boys! Start the engine! Captain Cory is buckled up and in position to restart our long journey home. It's a new fresh day. Check, Check, Check. All looks good……but that is what we thought yesterday. Remember yesterday?? The day from hell! That’s behind us, now. Hopefully smooth sailing ahead. Fingers crossed, toes crossed, eyes crossed, the sign of the cross, doing crossword puzzles! Luck be with us, God! Some may think we are crazy for choosing this lifestyle. Because we love it, you just learn to expect these occasional bumps in the road and just deal with them. Blah, Blah, Babble, Blurp, #*+%€£, Bwana, Beep, Bing, Bong, Blat, Biff, Bucky, Cuckoo!
We rolled out of our unplanned parking lot campsite @ 7:45 AM. Our evening had been spent watching the Big Bang Theory (my most favorite TV show). Generator purred along to allow me this treat. Cory doesn't run it all night so we opted to sleep on our couches for the night. The bedroom was way too hot ( like our engine of yesterday) so we opened all our windows, ran the fan for awhile and called it a night. Cory quickly
zoned out, stretched out on the big couch. Me: fetal position on the smaller couch. But I slept okay. Woke occasionally to restore circulation to my extremities. Awoke to find a big bug bite on one arm. I'll watch it and keep you posted if it gets nasty. Pictures will be included if necessary. Hope it wasn't a brown recluse spider….I'm a goner if so. Feel sorry for me? Hope so.
OK….10:20 AM and we have just entered into Georgia. Farewell Florida. We had a great time this winter (minus yesterday). Safe travels to our friends that are traveling behind us. We shall be seeing you all again in January, 2016. We are counting: 267 days! Where did the time go? It just flew by. Confirming: “time flies when you are having a good time”. Seems Iike it was faster than the speed of light.
A brief reflection on yesterday’s dastardly experience. Then, it will be water under the bridge as we sail merrily upstream. Sometimes it's good we don't have a crystal ball to tell the future. Everything would just come to a standstill with fear and trepidation. First, I did video tapes of some of the sorrowful happenings so you can feel yourself close to us during this stressful event. I'm going to try and post them in this blog. First, forget the wrong date I state in the beginning of this first video: just stress and torment kicking in. Plus, I am only doing the first one this time.....just to see if it works. Not sure how well I can edit them so if it's a mish-mash, just deal with it the best you can. Scroll way down cause it's supposed to be at the very end....ah, the anticipation, I know. If it's not there....don't sweat....I'll keep trying on the next blog. Yippee. Let's face it- none of it was pretty! But, it could have been much worse so we are thankful it was what it was. Of course, when Ernest T. ( tow man) said he had to detach our drive shaft to tow the RV….that sounded bad. When we thought we were only low on coolant and Cory checked for some and we had none: that was bad. When the write out said a problem with our alternator: that was bad. When he couldn't see the fan belt: real bad. Rocking in the RV on the major highway: pretty bad. Cory’s make-shift “caution” emergency marker: our green stool with our swim noodle attached – not so good but gave the passer- byers something to study. Ernest T. spitting globs of brown, juicy, disgusting tobaccy everywhere: nasty and bad. Lulu carrying on badly cause she wasn't the center of attention during this crisis: pathetic! Arriving at the repair place and seeing their sign: Hi-Way Mart. Sounded like a Homer Simpson store….kind of bad. Freezing my tats and cradies off in the Arctic polar cap called Wendy’s. Only a whale blubber suit could have saved me. It was so bad! Paying Big Craig his payola. Bad! Waking up to a bug bite: bad to me. But, in the end, we weren't hurt and our roadie – house is fixed: all’s good in the world. Let it go, Let it go, Let it go……we have! A thousand miles to travel before we bring it all home but our lemonade glass is half full and our fantasy adventure continues. We are just taking our time and cruising along. Praying nothing more happens! Lulu would be down on bended knee if she had one. You are still with us, I hope. We can't let these good times roll without all of you next to us. Roll’em, Roll’em, Roll’em…….RAWHIDE! Stay by our side! We aren't home yet [
