Woke jet-lagged. A run and a trip to Walmart seemed to help immensely (www.peopleofwalmart.com). Lovely warm day. Heavy humidity broken briefly by a thunderous downpour. Saw some of Athens in the daylight. An interesting mix of colourful old wooden houses and big shopping malls. This is my first trip to the US, so you may be able to tell me it's all like this. Brunch at Mama's Boy restaurant. Grits. Biscuits. Big Gs & T in Aromas Bar, then a pint in the Peasants' Arms, a fair hybrid pub/bar. Much catching up and remembering old stories from Wells. Stephen often interrupted by a phone call where he will say, "Yes, he's arrived."
