Husband Tim threw a marvelous party for Marcela on her (and twin Vicky's) 40th birthday. Marcela reminded me that when she lived with us in Alaska, I had turned 40!

We visited the site where Dave & Deb Dougherty got married (UVA campus). Their kids, Ella, Cole & Julia, are in the doorway where the wedding party took cover from a down-pour and where Dave and Deb actually took their vows

At an Asian museum in Washington D.C. they had a calligrapher from Oman giving instruction to the public. I think it was one of the highlights of our Guatemalans' visit

I had hoped to spend my birthday with birthday-buddy Kim Tyrrell, but she and Thomas were camping that day. Instead had a wonderful dinner with friend Randy Latta, who also lives in Asheville

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to include a photo of grandson Evan Puchalski, he'll be 4 the end of November, so is 3 1/2 here. Christina and Evan came to Tucson for a visit over Mother's Day weekend, just before we started our drive east

Loved looking at the Summer '09 entry. We LOVED having Letty, Aixa and Melissa (and you two, of course). It was such a special visit. And it was a treat for me to see your photo of Vermont and the Berninghausens. Great to see pictures of the Tyrrells too. love,a
