Day 16 - Last Day in D.C.

We started out the day by missing the bus that we had planned to take to the Metro Station. Luckily, there was another one going the same way 25 minutes later and we caught that one.

We visited the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington Cemetery to start our day. We witnessed the Changing of the Guard Ceremony, which truly is memorable and I recommend it to anyone. Next was the Air and Space Museum. We watched a movie about black holes at the planetarium there. There were many rockets and NASA associated items on display there.

We then headed, as tired as ever, back to our campsite. As we got on the first leg of our Metro train ride, we realized that we had forgotten to pick up our bus transfer tickets. The tickets allow a discount to ride the bus if transferring from the Metro train. Oops! Jason was the man as he hopped off at the next stop and ran to get them. Then, Jesse Owens, I mean Jason, ran back to catch the next train. He then hopped off and on another train to try and catch up with Sam and Carrie. He ended up being about 10 minutes behind as they waited patiently for him at the bus stop.

For dinner, we cheated and called Domino’s Pizza. They delivered right to our campsite!

We found a Nebraska plate for total of 47. Only 3 more states to go!
