Well, the Dunns are about to wrap up their excellent adventure out West. When we look back at our blogs, we can't believe all of the amazing places we've been! Overall, we voted that Wyoming was our favorite site - seeing state, but we all agreed that out of the nine states we drove across, we could see ourselves actually living in California. We've only had two little hiccups during our trip - losing our floor mat to the camper bus at Devils Tower Campground and washing my cell phone in the washing machine. The good news is that I bought a new cell phone in Palo Alto yesterday so I'm connected to the world again!! We did have one big hiccup yesterday - the trucking company that was supposed to come and pick up the camper bus to take it back home never showed up! When Tony called this morning to queston its whereabouts, the company said that the driver decided not to make the trip to California because of the high cost of gas. At the moment, the little, orange lunch box sits in our friends' driveway - waiting to head back home. I'm hopeful that it gets back in the next few weeks, but I honestly have my doubts that I'll see it again in the next month or two. Worst case scenario, our friends said that they would pack up the kids and the dogs and road trip it to Cincinnati! What good friends we have! Last night, we hired a babysitter and escaped for the night to a quaint little bar and grill in downtown Los Altos Hills. The dinner and wine were great, but it was nice to just sit and relax with old friends and talk about what else - the kids!! We're thinking of making another trip back to Cali next summer to visit again. My vote is to fly next time!! We thought that we'd share our final stats with all of our friends back home: We traveled a total of 3,208.5 miles. Our total moving time was 60 hours and 52 minutes. Our average speed 52.7 mph. We filled up 182.75 gallons of fuel and averaged 17.56 miles per gallon - not bad! We spent $756.86 on gas - a little less than we expected. And most importantly, the only license plates we didn't find were Delaware, Rhode Island, West Virginia and New Hampshire. We even found Washington D.C. when we visited Stanford's campus yesterday!!We were shocked!! Tony and I agreed that this was the best family vacation that we have ever experienced with the girls. Our only hope is that the girls will remember all of the special memories we shared in the little orange lunch box. Officially ending our blog from California - Aimee

*I'm adding one more hiccup - our flight out of San Fran was delayed due to smog from the forest fires. Since it was delayed, was missed our connecting flight to Cinti by 20 minutes! UGH! Once we arrived in Salt Lake City, we flew to Los Angeles. We're at the LA airport right now and the only thing that is keeping me awake is the hope that I'll run into a celebrity. Some of you know that I'm as bad as the paparazzi!!
We're hoping to be home by 6 A.M. If I add to the blog again, it means there's been another hiccup! Otherwise, we're home safe and sound - catching up on our sleep!!
