San Francisco

I met a younger traveller than me - a one month old travelling from New Caledonia to Paris... but he wasn't very interesting as he didn't even smile at me! What a long plane ride! I even had my own little bed, but it's much nicer sleeping on mummy's tummy - we both fell asleep together.

When we finally arrived in San Francisco mummy and daddy hired a big huge car to take us and my toys to Afi's place where we are staying. We were all very tired so we went to bed early but I woke with a blocked nose in the middle of the night. Mummy sprayed this weird stuff up my nose and it was better!

No one understands Mummy - she asked for the toilet but they call it a restroom, the boot they call a trunk, they don't say petrol but gas... It's so hard to learn to speak!!

The next morning Daddy picked Mamie up from her hotel and she joined us for a beautiful breakfast Afi had prepared. Mummy and I were so tired we went to sleep and then everyone had left when we woke up. They had gone to the art gallery but it was closed, so instead we drove around San Francisco. It is so much bigger than Brisbane!! First stop - we walked up and down the zigzagging Lombard street. Mummy said she had been there about 30 years ago. That is such a long time when I've only been alive 4 1/2 months!!!

Then we drove to Fisherman's Wharf and I had some milk looking over the Golden Gate Bridge! We crossed over it and everyone ate their lunch at Sausalito. I was captivated by the harbour (there was a nice view out the window) with the sailboats. I can't wait to go sailing in the Caribbean!!

It got very cold when the sun went down. Lucky mummy's friend Noorinya gave me a nice warm jacket and Mummy packed Aunty Glenda's beanie!!! I fed again, this time in a beautiful art gallery. I was so hungry!

I fell asleep on the way home...
