San Fransisco was our favourite US city.

San Francisco is lively, optimistic, friendly, open-minded, safe (seemingly) and great fun. It's certainly hilly which makes walking around entertaining but tiring but public transport is easy. The people are helpful and friendly and sound calmer and possibly better educated than those from LA. Great food and lots of laughter and fun to be had in the evening.

We took a ferry to Alcatraz and walk around that eerie, lonely place and walked around the Fisherman's wharf and Union Square.
