Whilst in San Francisco we knew we had to go over the Golden Gate bridge so we figured the best way to do this would be to hire bikes for the day. This is how some of the cells looked after the convicts had been in the for some time, Shawshank quote "Like I said, in prison a man will do anything to keep his mind occupied. It turns out Andy's favorite hobby was totin' his wall through the exercise yard, a handful at a time"

This is a diagram of the escape plan use in one of the breakouts, the convicts used spoons to scrape through the wall behind the drain in the cell (Shawshank eat your heart out!)

The night of the escape the inmates had made a head out of soap and put it in the bed while they climbed through the hole they made with the spoons

Love the pics.
Pictures are amazing, am sure as you say you need to see theses places to fully appreciate the beauty and capture the atmosphere. Think you right about the Medical Centre - not much has changed in the NHS - Looks pretty similar to our new treatment centre!!!!!

Hi Guys, What can we say.........San Francisco looks absolutely amazing. Your pics say it all, that your both having a fantastic time. how big are those bloody trees?????? looks like your having the time of your lives ( not to good i hope we all want you both to come back at some point) matt you even look like you've got some of that american sunshine on your body! and its only taken 30 years. arsenal beat celtic 2-0 in the first leg so happy dayz. di alfie said you look lovley on your holiday and wants to know if you and matt are coming over for dinner on sunday! ill tell him you've had a better offer. matt we have booked our golf weekend ( not going to be the same without you m8 ) ive got work in the morning so ill sign off now. i will keep cheeking the skype to see when your on look after eachother and we will talk soon.

Did you find Yogi Bear? Just catching up on the latest Blog. Been sitting here for an hour watching all the photo's. Brilliant. Glad you found Bob Stroud's cell, and all about him.
