The next morning after doing some much needed laundry we set off to San Fransisco, arriving around lunchtime. Our first real experience of crack addicts - which was truly disturbing. As we were quite early, the room at the hotel wasn't ready, so we parked the car in the hotel garage and went off in search of some action. We found it at Castro (the Gay district). There was a "Post Pride" festival on (what luck); food, music stalls and beer!! We stayed till it finished in the late afternoon, and a nice old fella called George helped us find the way home (because of the festival some of the tram stops were closed. Of course we bumped in to a "queen from Sydney" his own words (I think Ausies are other Ausie magnets)! And a couple from Wisconsin, so George was helping 4 tourists to find their way home. We eventually caught a train to our side of town, then a tram across the notorious steep hill in San Fransisco. We were standing on the duck board at the back which gave us an awesome view of the roads at night. It was a little frightening thoug, it is

very steep. We planned to go out for pizza, but while we were waiting at our table, we were both falling asleep, so we got the pizza to go and went to bed.
