The Walk of Fame....
Many names on the stars along the steet, thought this one was funny! Hurray for Hollywood, yadda yadda yadda.
only been here for 5 days and i wish i had longer but we're flying to Vegas tommorrow. In our 5 short days we've managed to fit so much in, 2 trips to universal studios, watched a movie at the main screen at the chinese theatre, sat outside an awards cerimony and watched a couple of famous people, been drinking in some famous bars on sunset strip, walked up to the hollywood sign and done a walking tour of the stars houses in Bel Air and Beverly Hills. Its all so awsome, i love it.
Where to begin, after our flight arrived and we'ed battled trough the famous LA traffic we went for a walk along hollywood boulevard and stumbled apone the american film insitutes awards ceremony, were we watched as Hugh Heffner and his 7 girlfriends walked in, and as the awards was actually celebrating the great Al Pacino, the man himself turned up about 30 mins later while i was eating a burrito upstairs in the building, but from my vantage point, i also think i saw Kate Huddson and Hilary Swank. It was also at this point very early in

Hollywood Sign.....
Thats El and the Hollywood Sign! Sign.....
Thats El and the Hollywood Sign!our trip that we learned not to go anywhere without your camera in this town cause you never know who you might see.
The next day we got up late and went for another walk around ending up at universal city just out side the studios, this street is just one big neon sign, but we had lunch in a Bubba Gump resturant, a resturant totally dedicated to Forrest Gump, and had some of their famous shrimp salads, delicous, it was then time for our first trip in to the wonderland of universal studios. As it was getting late there was only time for a couple of rides before it closed but they were pretty good.
El here now:
The next morning we went for a long walk with a few others from the hostel to see the Hollywood sign. After getting as far up as allowed without getting arrested, all I can say is it was smaller than we expected, but thats Hollywood for you, everythings seems bigger than it actually is!!! We then headed back to Universal where we checked out more of the fun and games there including the studio

This was a saturday and we decided to go check out the famous bars where the stars go to get merry, we got drunk on 4 drinks (big mesures here). We started at the Rainbow Bar then I sneaked into the Viper Room Club for a wee (formally owned by Johnny Depp. Also where River Pheonix died outside.) Then I sweet talked the security guard at the Whisky A Go-Go to let us in free as it was almost closing time.(all he needed was a hug!) This place is famous for the bands that have started out here like Guns 'n' Roses, motley crue and the red hot chilli peppers.
Sunday after a late drunken night we would of liked a lay in but we had some knightmare roommates who like to shower and re-do their hair before they go to bed when they get up at 7am and at some point in the afternoon as I discovered today! So with not much energy we just went to the Famous Manns Chinese Theatre where only a

( gutted I missed this, some girls I met got to meet them.) So I had to go and see it there in the main theatre and hopped my seat was one that they had sat in or at least touched!
Excellent film by the way!
That night the hostel put on a free comedy show on in the bar and it turned out to be a really good laugh. Unfortunately our luck was still out on our room mates as we returned to our rooms shattered we had to endure another night of late night hair dryers and clicker clacking of their HUGE solid suitcases ahhh the Jappenese always travel in style! We were NOT impressed when it all started again at 6:45am this morning. Maybe I'm getting old but how do they get by on 5 hours sleep?
So today we went on a guided walking tour of Beverly Hills and Bel Air.
Whisky a go-go......
Dave outside a little merry! It was a long way to see these famous peoples houses but worth it just to say we got to see the homes

We had lunch at an American Dinner near Rodeo Drive which was cool, then took the bus back to Hollywood. Still exausted from lack of sleep we had a little nap before the girls popped in for a hair session! Can you sense the anger in my tone yet? Im not a happy bunny, espeacially knowing we have to endure it tonight as well, but hey at least we will be in Vegas tomorrow in a nice hotel room! Woo Hoo.
So goodbye from Hollywood the weired and wonderful place of stars and strange strange people!
El and Dave.
