Berverly Hills
Beverly Hills Cop me! Well we all knew that i would make it here eventually...but not as soon as this! Ladys and Gentlemen Matthew Veira apears in Hollywood to film his new movie - "The Ultimate Trip"...apparently its amazing.
Anyway enough of that, LA was pretty cool and we spent two slots of time there. The first slot was when we travelled from San Luis Obispo to LA and went to meet Andys parents Ann and Clive. They came to have a holiday in California etc, and Andy somehow wangled us places with them which was way to kind of them. The train from San Luis took from 6am - 11am but we got Business class seats as they were dirt cheap for that time in the morning.
The Californian coastline was beautiful in the morning sun, and we got to see some of the most beautiful coastline in the world apparently. We then found our way to LAX airport to where we met Ann and Clive and then hired a car and headed to our accommodation. We were staying in the Orchid Suites which was in the centre on Hollywood, right next to 'Hollywood Blvd' which is where all the stars

Sunrise over the Californian Coastline on the street are.
We found our rooms (double bed each AND a TV!) and then went to take in the Hollywood atmosphere. As you would expect, the amount of cars in LA was terrible and the roads were full practically all the time. This meant that we walked around (which me and Andy are used to), and we went down Hollywood Blvd and saw some of the sights around there. We went into the Kodak theatre where they hold the Oscars and it was so grand. They had plaques of all the 'Best Film' since the Oscars began, and it was just all very impressive.
We saw the Hollywood sign...woo! It was weird as I have spent my whole life seeing things like that sign on television and you never think you could actually be close to it, and when we saw it up on the hill it actually took some time to sink in that we were in Hollywood.
The rest of that first day we spent driving around Beverly Hills and Bel Air. It was so crazy how big some of the houses were and how many cars each house had. These wernt just
Chineese Theatre
Quite famous i think Toyota Corolla's...but like top of the range BMW's and Mercs EVERYWHERE! It was strange to think of just how much money was in one neighbourhood. Sadly we didnt see anyone famous, but i'm sure there were lots of famous people hiding in some of the houses we saw. Beverly Hills was just like Beverly Hills Cop....can you belive Andy has not seen one of the three?!?! I seriously need to sort him out dont I?! It was a nice first day with Ann and Clive and we finished it with a nice Italian meal on the outskirts of Beverly Hills.
Our second day in LA was going to be special, and it certainly was. We got up early and went for a good ol American breakfast. We went and took some pictures of the Chineese theatre there and then caught the metro to Universal City. What is so amazing about Universal City?......'Universal Studios' thats what! I have been to the one in Paris, but it is nothing like the one in LA. The Americans do it so well, and put so much effort into it all. We started with the Universal Studios tour which takes you from the
Hollywood Blvd
The famous street with all the stars....couldnt find mine though...something is wrong! park, all through the studios and areas where they do all the filming. You are on a long carriage and you go past all the hangers where they do the filming and along streets that you can recognise from films.
Its truly amazing how they do it, and we saw streets like the famous one with the clock tower in 'Back to the future' and 'Bruce Almightly'. The carriage also goes through some fake sets made just for the tour where you experience all the effects of Hollywood, it was fun. We got to see part of the set from 'War of the Worlds' which was really stunning....Steven Speilberg bought and then cut up an airplane and put it on the set...pretty crazy huh. And for those of you who are 'Desperate Housewives' fans...I went down Wisteria Lane and saw all their houses...they were filming that day....I sadly missed Terry Hatcher but apparently she was looking for me - shame.
After this fantastic tour of seing THE 'Back to the future' car and THE 'Blues Brothers' car.....we went and did all the rides that Universal had to offer us. The worst ride by far, was the "Back
Eddie Murphy
Legend that is...my hands and feet were bigger than his..mwahah to the future' simulator....this made me very ill, and I now understand why Dad hates those things...yukky! There were a few fun rides there, a roller coaster called 'The mummy'...the Americans make it so big though and have everyone screaming and clapping all the time...i mean common..lets just get on with the ride people! We finished with the water ride, which was Jurassic Park..and it was fun...but not the biggest drop...we thought it was lame..until we realised that we were completely and utterly drenched in water....that showed us huh.
We finished Universal Studios with the big show that they put on there called 'Waterworld'. It was based on the film, and they did it really well. Huge set based around lots and lots of water, and they had all these jumps and dives, using lots of boats as well. The acting was pretty poor, but it was very funny and they executed everything so well. The best part was when they shot this HUGE waterplane over a wall using explosives and it seems like its going to crash into the crowd but stops just in-time - WOW!
We all had a fantastic day and enjoyed ourselves. We all
Charlie Chappers
He bumped into us, was a nice guy...didnt speak much had to get an early night though, as we were heading to Las Vegas the next day and we were driving through 'Death 'Valley'...so we had to leave at 6am - Oh i just "love" early starts.
