This is our cabin for the weekend. It was build by the CCC.
We decided to rent a cabin at Devils Den State Park for a little Rest and Relaxation. Our cabin, number 16, is really a studio with bed, couch, kitchen and bath. It is equipped with a nice TV with cable and a wood burning fireplace, which they provide a bundle of wood for each day there. It really is nice and cozy for two.

After we checked in and got settled in cabin, we walked around by the other cabins. This is a Sunday and nice weather, so there were a lot of people doing day hikes. In the evening, DH build a fire and we relaxed, watching a bit of TV. Tomorrow we will do a day hike. I had a very restful night, sleeping over 8 hours.

Next morning, after breakfast, we sat outside on the patio having our coffee, listening to the waterfall a short distance from the cabin. So calming and relaxing! The weInather started out cloudy, but ended up nice and sunny and warm. Really nice for February. We hiked the Devil's Den trail, and since this was a Monday, we did not see many people. The water fall was running nicely so we

enjoyed that. We also stopped at the "Who Do" forest with many, many man made rock formations. We added one to the forest.

Information about the Devil's Den Trail: Length: 1 1/2 mile loop taking about 1 1/2 hours to hike. The trail head is behind the Visitor Center. Elevation change is 100 feet.

The Devil's Den Trail was built by the CCC in the 1930's and is designated part of the National Trails System. Features include: Devil's Den Cave, Devil's Ice Box, Twin Falls, Cold Springs and more. This is a popular trail and may be crowded on weekends. The caves are currently closed to protect wildlife, ie bats.

We had a very nice weather day for our hike and enjoyed the respite in the middle of winter. That evening, we had another fire and relaxed after our hike.

The next day, we hiked the Woody Plant and Lake trails. Both of these together equal about 2 miles. The Woody Plant trail goes toward campground E through the woods, and the Lakes ends up around the lake in the park.

Tomorrow, we check out and drive home, which is only about an hour from

our house. Nice weekend and had good weather while there, however, it did rain on us a bit as we drive home.

This is an old cabin structure, not sure what it was used for.
