We saw our first whale today!! During afternoon coffee, some yelled "whale" - and there it was, head and as that disappeared its tail came up!! It reappeared again and then went on its merry way!! Only disappointment. I guess, was that no-one yelled "There she blows" . Later on we saw more whales, also dolphins and seals - I think I even caught a whale on camera.

Well Ketchikan is the wettest town in Alaska and so we were again very lucky to get blue skies, although it was a tad chilly!! We did a couple of self-guided walks around the town. Lots of totem poles and old wooden buildings on wooden platforms built into the hills.

The sail-away was a nature watch with a commentary from a local naturalist.

Photos were taken after mooring and on our way out
