Yesterday we spent our first day back on dry land. Kay said she felt wobbly like we were still in rough water! The shipped docked at Whittier early in the morning. We then disembarked around 8:00 a.m. after a light breakfast boarded a bus for Anchorage. We passed through the longest tunnel in North America (2 1/2 miles long) on our way. The driver stopped at a little park so that we could look at some salmon & the views.

When we arrived in Anchorage, it was too early to check into our rooms so we took a walk. We ate lunch at a little place called Humpy's. The food was good & we caught up on what was going on in the world of sports. Kay & the guys then continued the walk & I went back to the hotel lobby to reconnect with cyberspace! After we got checked into our rooms, Kay & I found a little coin operated laundry & took care of business as we had just about run out of clean clothes.

As the evening approached, we split into two groups. Trey, Andrew & Joe went to a poetry reading. Kay had to restrain me from going (NOT!) Kay & I finished up our laundry & then Andy joined us for some smoked salmon clam chowder at Runrunners' Bar & Grill.

More tomorrow.
