Terri and Kate go to Mexico - Day 1

Day 1 - We Arrive

We arrive in Cancun and check in at the Aqua Cancun Hotel. We are met by a heavenly peppermint fragrance and are offered a hand massage and a cup of Mayan tea while we check in. The lobby is very calm and serene and immediately makes you forget the stresses of your flight. Our cases are taken up to our rooms for us so we head on up and check out our accommodation for the next 4 nights.

Our rooms are huge! With the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in, a whirlpool bath, and Molton Brown toiletries. We have great views of the beautiful Caribbean sea and the pool.

Later, we meet for cocktails in the hotels trendy AKA bar and sample Caipirinhas, followed by dinner at the MB restaurant, which was absolutely gorgeous. We were treated to a sampler starter of cheese croquette, tuna tartare and a king prawn ensemble. Next we stuffed ourselves silly with Caribbean style snapper followed by basil soufflé.

The jet lag starts to kicik and whilst its only 830pm in Mexico its 130am in UK time so we call it a day and head off to bed.
