On the beach

Very hard dark and fine sand, with lots of beer and seafood vendors

The Gulf of Mexico

The waves gently roll in, the water is shallow, you can walk a long way out and there is no undertow

Cafe de la Parroquia

World famous "must see" if you are in Veracruz, this is their specialty, amazing espresso coffee topped with hot milk

The Old Fort

Veracruz is where Cortez landed in 1519. It became an important port. This is one of the forts built to defend it.

3.6 liters of Beer

120 pesos for one of these, that's about $9.25, good thing the beer is only 4%

Meet the new Author

Santillana, the educational division of Prisa, is a leader in educational materials and is present in 22 countries.

Office

A unique office at Santillana. It is creating a whole new teaching platform and now has a staff of over 150. Mary was one of the first 4 people hired 6 months ago.

The author at work

With her new assistant hard at it. All of the work is done from anywhere, on our home computers and transferred to the editors.
