Lacandon is the name of the indiginous group. The boys dresses all white, and the girls colorful dresses.
Palenque is such a very small city. The most interesting stuff is everything around this city.

The best option is to get to Vilahermosa, Tabasco airport (It is very closed to Palenque, around 2 hours and a half). I stayed in a very cute hostel (and very cheap as well). It is really worth it, the name is Yaxkin Hostel.

Once I arrived to Palenque, I paid for my two trips (there are lots of travel agencies in te city or even in the hotel, they offered daily tours). My fisrt tour was Bonampak and Yaxchillan. For doing this, I really have to be awake since 5:00 am, the trip starts at 6:00 am. Bonampak and Yaxchillan are a little bit far from Palenque (around 3 hours).

I really loved this trip; it is being in the jungle! And then the stunning Mayan pyramids. WOW!

To get to Yaxchillan, is is necessary to get a boat across the Usumacinta river during more than 30 minutes.

I couldn't do this: But if you have the chance, go to Flores (Guatemala) and then Tikal.

Another tip: For a whole explanation about Maya civilization, please pay a tourist
