Goals for Today.
1) Niagara Falls
2) Watch the Maple Leafs
- All on 160 CAN$
Can it be done? we'll see
Left my hostel after breakfast about 0800, was waiting for Wataru, hopefully he's not forgotten or going to be late! I phoned him up and he told me he wasn’t going to be there until 0900; i wondered back inside as it was freezing outside.
The journey up to Niagara Falls was awesome; the guys were singing and having a laugh. The scenery that was zooming past was beautiful; however we did get lost once or twice. We had to stop in this sleepy little Canadian town called Niagara - On - The - Lake, the downtown area was one straight road and it was dead. After pissing around; taking some photos and getting some directions we piled back into the car and made our way to Niagara Falls.
It was freezing; the railings were frozen but the view was stunning; it was so worth the long drive. After countless photos we wondered round the downtown area; this was full of tourist attractions and shops selling various
tourist tat. We left just as the sun was setting and bombed it back to Toronto; we managed just to miss the rush hour. I fell asleep in the back of the car and got woken up in Chinatown, I declined Wataru's offer off dinner as I wanted .to catch the Maple Leafs. After returning down to the hostel i wondered back down to the Air Canada Centre, getting tickets for a NHL game is so much more difficult then getting a ticket for a NBA game off a tout. The first tout wanted 150$ CAN for a single ticket in the gods, I was sure that I could get a cheaper ticket so I wondered off and spoke to another tout; he wanted $120 CAN. I pleaded generally ignorance and claimed that I only had $60 (which was a lie - the rest was in my sock!) and after quizzing me bout the contents of my wallet - "Do you have any other currencies?" "What about a credit card? We take credit!) I managed to get the ticket for 60$ CAN, 5$ US
The game was awesome and upon finding out that I was English and had no
clues bout the rules of the game the lady I was sitting next to took it upon herself to explain all the rules whenever they happened; plus conversations about Tottenham Hotspur and football. I loved the ice hockey; the only problem is that it is so quick you only know a goal has been scored by the red flashing light above the goal; the puk moves so quickly you cant see it! The Maple Leafs won 4-2, really good game and really enjoyed it!

Woke up packed up my bags left my hostel at 1100 with my bags still in the lockers. It was bitterly cold, the coldest since my stay here in Toronto.
1300 - went back to the hostel and picked up my bag, the journey to the airport was uneventful and fairly easy. Checked in and got World Traveller Plus (Economy Plus). The flight was largely uneventful apart from a weird guy sitting behind me; he was visiting his parents in Shoredich. I was reading my book and this guy would start ask me questions like "What you reading?" Me being me answered just to be nice but this made him talk to me more; the point which I snapped was when he asked me for my name! He was hitting on me - that’s like soooooooo wrong, why couldn’t he be a cute blonde or brunette? I really wouldn’t mind! I moved down into Economy and sat there in between two really big people in the middle seat! Fun!
