June 29. The drive from Regina to Winnipeg is a long one. After settling at the campground we set out to look for a food store. We saw a mall with a sign “The Bay”. Thinking it was a supermarket we stopped, but soon discovered it was The Hudson Bay department store. On to the Safeway and then we were back to our Bothan for the night.
June 30. We drove into Winnipeg and found a parking spot near The Forks. The Forks is located on the Red and the Assiniboine Rivers and has been a gathering place since the days of the fur traders. Today it is the home to shops, restaurants, attractions and year-round events. After wondering around we enjoyed some hot-from-the-oven cinnamon rolls!
Winnipeg is a large city and walking it, is good exercise. The Manitoba Museum was wonderful. We arrived in time for a private tour and the info from the young guide was super .
