QUADRA ISLAND

We went to Quadra Island and camped at the We Wai Kai Campground on the Rebecca Spit south of Heriot Bay. It was a really nice campground. We kayaked in Scott and Juli's TOMCAT TANDEM in the waters of Drew Harbour. We walked into "town" and ate a mandatory salad at the Heriot Bay Inn. (They won't serve you a beer unless you order food.) In the morning we took the ferry to Campbell River.

COMOX VALLEY

We went to Mt Washington ski area to hike at Strathcona Park, but it was still closed due to snow. We drove to Courtenay and hiked around the Nymph River Falls area. We also tried a hike off the Forbidden Highway (on recommendation from the lady in Campbell River) but we turned back upon seeing a 1 ft wide pile of steaming bear poop. True story!

We are camping for the night at the Living Forest Campground near Nanaimo and will head to Vancouver BC in the morning!
