Well we ended up in the wild wild west. We arrived in Brooks in Southern Alberta, the prairies. We lived in a little house filled with people. There was one bathroom for the nine of us. So pretty crazy to say the least.

Trimming

I went along trimming for a day. Because the ground is so soft over here the cattle have to have their feet trimmed every year so they don’t get foot root.

We were right in the middle of calving season. They check the cows every two hours here, even through the night. The twins in the picture unfortunately died after a bit of a cold snap. I attempted to nurse the calf in the little picture by warming it up, but it died several hours later.

Being on a farm we were involved with the barn duties occasionally. The kids were always eager to help.
