Survey all finished for May / June, so finished up last night - has been an enjoyable 50 days at sea, with everything we set out to do - acheived and happy people all round, so early this morning I headed to the airport to fly to Cairo via Bahrain, good flight all round, once in Cairo I proceeded to the customs area to complete Visa etc, got a taxi to the hotel , I staying in a part of town called El Dokki, which is about 5 minutes from the Nile and close to many attractions. currenlty a much cooler 29 degrees c (compared to 48 when we tied up in muskat - Oman yesterday!)

For those of you who have not travelled to Egypt, Cairo first impressions is quite an eye opener, 20 million people, main source of income is Tourism , security is good with plenty of Tourism police on most streets, you do get scammers , that will try to sell you crap on every street or take you on tours, also lots of people offering help everywhere , had a few funny moments trying to get a cab to the hotel.
