Ray and I are about to embark on another adventure. Our trip to Turkey begins on October 9, 2015 and we invite to travel along with us via internet. We will land in Istanbul October 10 and return to the U.S. on October 30.

A summary is as follows. 3 days in Istanbul, then fly to Cappadocia where we will spend a day in a local village, lots of hiking in and around the fairy castles then a hot air balloon ride viewing the fairy castles from above. On day 7 we will visit the Whirling Dervishes. We will travel overland and stay in another village in a local home then to Antalya & Perge where St. Paul preached his first sermon in AD 46. On the 11th day we embark on a gullet (sailing ship) for 4 nights on the Mediterranean Sea, stopping at several islands and cities along the way. Day 16 brings us to Ephesus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From there, we continue on to Urfa and Haran, where Abraham is said to have lived nearly 4,000 years ago. Mount Nemrut is another stop and we also visit the Ataturk Dam on the Euphrates. We then go to Gaziantep and take a cruise on the Euphrates River where St. John the Apostle wrote his Gospel.

This trip takes us within just a few miles from the Syrian border which will be interesting for several reasons.
