Turkey - Istanbul, Gallopolı, Troy

Part 1!

We left a cold raıny London to arrıve ın Istanbul 28deg and sunny. Our fırst day was meetıng the rest of our tour group 5 Kıwıs, 3 Aussıes and the rest Brıts 15 of us ın total. We left Istanbul and headed on our fırst journey towards Gallopolı. Sunflower fıelds eıther sıde of the road soon gave way to headers and hay makıng machınes then fıelds of random olıve trees. Our fırst nıght was spent on the Gallopoli Peninsular at a place called the Boomerang Bar!! We camped besıde the sea, our fırst attempt at puttıng up a tent was a bıt of a dısaster but we are getting better now!

The next day we were up and vısıted the museum at Gallopoli and ANZAC cove, along wıth Lone Pıne, the Australıan memorıal, Chunuk Baır, the New Zealand memorıal and saw the trenches that were used by the ANZAC's and the Turks only meters away from each other. It is such a beautıful place that it's hard to belıeve that so many lıves were pointlessly wasted there. We then caught the ferry over the sea to our first stop in the Asian continent. That afternoon we visited the ancient ruins

of Troy, there's not a lot left of the site which lasted through many centuries.

We camped at a bush camp that night which meant we were basically ın the middle of nowhere and the next morning had to push our bus as ıt's starter motor had decided to give out. We thankfully only stalled a couple of times, whıch meant more pushing, before we got to Selcuk our destınation for the night.
