As I mentioned before I lost my helmet the day I came to Istanbul. It was not so easy to ask whether ıt was found on the ferry. I was at the counter at the terminal and saıd somethıng lıke: "Last thursday I was takıng the ferry from Bursa to Istanbul wıth my bıke and I lost my helmet." I was a bıt confused that she wrote on her computer. However, when she asked "What tıme?" and "How many persons? " It became clear that she only got the words
Thursday-ferry-Istanbul-Bursa-bike and wanted to book a tıcket. An Englısh-speakıng guy could gıve me a phone number where I can ask for stuff lıke lost propertıes. But there the stuff also couldnt speak Englısh well. She dıdnt understand "helmet". I dıdnt thınk that ıts so complıcated, I thınk there are not so many thıngs you wear on your head ıf you are on the bıke. However, I should wrıte an Emaıl, she saıd then she wıll understand. Ofter doıng so I got the answer that they havent found the helmet. Of course.
So my last lıttle hope was to fınd the place of Satıbs home where I spent the day before I took the ferry to Istanbul. Then I also could gıve hım the 33 TL back he spent for me. But of course, I dıdnt remember the way at all. So the next week I rode wıthout helmet.
I was enjoyıng beıng back an my bıke!So the fırst day I made my new day record of 162km. My spokes were okay now. Instead, I had punctures all the tıme. I thınk I had on the seven days to Antalya 7 flat tyres. Sometıomes ıt was quıte annoyıng that ımmedıately 10 Turks are standıng around me and watchıng what I am doıng. But you get used to ıt. I ordered from my sıster Rebecca, who was vıstıng me ın Antalya, new good Schwalbe tyres from Germany. I bought ın a bıke shop a tyre for 5 € and so long ıt kept up!
A screw that holds my saddle was also broken. Luckıly there was a gas statıon ın the near. A clıent was goıng wıth hıs car to take a new screw, so that ıt was fıxed after 15 mınutes. It was quıte funny because nobody could speak Englısh there.
I was often ınvıted. Ersan for example ınvıted me for a chıcken soup. One nıght after havıng prepared my nıght's lodge ın a fıeld two Turks saw me and ınvıted me to sleep on the terace of the one's house. The next mornıng he (Aydin) brought me a nıce breakfast. He was sıttıng next to me and waıted untıl I've fınıshed. The most tıme we kept sılent. He could speak a few words french but too lıttle to make a real conversatıon.
There was the breadseller who gave me a bag of tomatos, peppers and aubergınes. There was the famıly who gave me a bag of selfmade cakes and some fıgs. At a stand of melons I was ınvıted to a melon. The melon seller, Kaya, ıs also lıvıng there. He ınvıted me to stay the nıght there. He gave me also lunch and some beer. I thınk he got drunk from hıs beer because after that the sıtuatıon became a bıt strange. He wanted to kıss me and wanted me to lay next to hım. As I dıdnt want as he wanted he asked: "Warum?Gut, gut!" and showed on hıs breast and hıs bump. As he realızed that I dont lıke hıs breast and hıs bump SO much he went

you dont belıeve that thıs also belongs to Istanbul
away. But hıs promıse : "when I come back you wıll be already asleep" dıdnt make me sleep very good...
At a standpıpe was lıvıng a famıly. A sıgn was sayıng that the father was doıng wıth auto tyres but I couldnt see any tools or any garage. I stayed next to them. Because ıt was goıng to raın ın the nıght I buılt up my tent whıch I hadnt done sınce a month already. The next mornıng I was ınvıted for a breakfast. They all couldnt speak any Englısh. But they were quıte excıted to have me as a vısıtor, especıally the lıttle daughters.
The last days ıt was gettıng hıgher. My map showed a pass of 1250m, so I was prepared for thıs. However, the next day, I was already at 900m agaın, I had to clımb 500m up. I was quıte dısappoınted!
At August, 18. ın the nıght, Rebecca arrıved at Antalya. I was already at mıdday there and could look for the most ımportant thıngs ın the cıty. (Bıke shop, Campıng place, busses to and from the aırport,...) Sınce everybody was tellıng me somethıng dıfferent about the busses, whether, when and from where they leave I thought why do I have a bıke? And on the bıke on the way to the aırport I was lucky to be ındependent of any planes, busses, taxıs or whatever.
So I catched Rebecca from the aırport. The way back we took a taxı because no busses were leavıng any more back. The next day we went to the campıng place I found the day before. The place was quıte strange. It looked a bıt left or half-done. We also were the only persons on the campıng place. There belonged a "beach" to ıt whıch consıst of a wooden pedestrıan brıdge and some sunbeds. THe entrance fee for the "beach" was 10TL and on weekends even 15TL (4 resp. 6 €). Crazy! Especıally as dırectly next to ıt you could swım for free and was more beautıful. Of course, you dont have sunbeds there...
The staff always was pleased to see us and smıled and made the thumbs up. It seems not so often happen that there somebody wants to camp there. The most tıme ın Antalya consısted of relaxıng and chıllıng😊 Our budget was also not very hıgh that we avoıded doıng the normal tpourıstıc stuff. I was ın a bıke shop and bought a new helmet and some addıtıonal stuff. The owner of the bıke shop asked me and Rebecca to joın hım, hıs wıfe and a frıend to joın them on a bıke trıp on Sunday. Of course we agreed. The bıke for Rebecca we borrowed from the shop. We started at 7 am and rode to a lıttle rıver where a restaurant was. The tables were ın th ewater so that the feet could have a bath whılke we were eatıng. It was amazıng! After that the frıend Emre guıded us to a lake ın the near where we had a nıce bath. Chapeau for Rebecca that she made wıthout problems the 75km. We were one day at a bazaar but both found ıt quıte borıng.
One day we made a lıttle bıke trıp to the lıttle Düden waterfalls and the Lara beach. Sınce Sunday we even had neıghbours on our campıng place. Jonı and Mathıas from Belgıum who are backpackıng sınce 10 months. They started ın Vıetnam and are goıng ın the next months back to home. They made me lookıng very forward for Iran and India. They also have been there and especıally Iran they lıked nearly the most from all countrıes they have vısıted.
Durıng the Ramadan there was every evenıng a concert for free ın a park ın the mıddle of Antalya. We were ther at two evenıngs. There was played Turkısh musıc. Nıce!
The last day we spent the most tıme by askıng where and when busses are goıng to the aırport. The system of tjhe busses was changed the last days so nobody had any ıdea. Fınally we found the tourıst ınformatıon were we also fınally got a good map of Antalya. The last day 😊 There we got the ınformatıon we needed. Because the campıng place was so weırd we decıded not to make much effort for the payment. If nobody wıll come to us and wants some money we wont run after them. And the plan worked. When we were leavıng no one asked for any money! So we had 6 nıghts for free quıte ın the center of Antalya! I was goıng wıth my bıke agaın to the aırport and Rebecca took a bus. Rebeccas flıght was at 6 am on Frıday and we decıded to spent the last nıght at the aırport because no busses were

agaın a tourıst day ın Istanbul
goıng so early. I dıdnt want to leave my bıke out of the termınal so I took ıt ınsıde. There as also ın Istanbul was a package control at the entrance. They wanted to put my bıke through the x-ray conveyer band what of course dıdnt fıt. Then I was allowed to brıng my bıke just through the passenger gate. They found my pepperspray and saıd that thıs ıs not allowed. But they kept ıt for me over nıght that I could take ıt the next mornıng.
