Istanbul 01 & 02 Day

My husbond has spent his new year holiday at Istanbul for 5 days 4 nights from 30 Dec 06 to 3 Jan 07 in "free and easy" way.

He would like to share his travel experince as follows:-

01 Day - 30 Dec 06

The flight scheduled from Dubai to Istanbul at 7.00am. Unfortunately the flight was delayed for 4 hours due to some problem on the submission of paper to the Air-Port. A bad sight for the trip nevertheless at the end safely landed at the Istanbul.

The hotel tour guide has brought us for city sight seeing before sent us to the hotel. The temperature believed in between 3 to 5 celcious and i feeled cool under this kind of atmosphere.


02 Day - 31 Dec 06

Today target destination is Bosphorus Bridge which bridging Asia and Europe.

I took the Tram (0.65 YTL) to Eminonu pier then from there took ferry (1.30 YTL) to cross over the Bosphorus strait to the Uskudar at Asia side after that took a bus reached at Beylerbeti a small town and then followed by taking a taxi (10YTL) arrived at Camlica Park which is the highest point at Istanbul. The magnificent panorama of Bosphorus Bridge and Istanbul can be enjoyed here.

After the lunch at Beylerbeti, I took the ferry back to the Europe side stopped at Besiktas Pier then walked to the Taksim Square which famous of its night life & shopping places. Of course the main purpose was to take a look of the New Year count-down activity for 2007. Arrived there at about 4.00pm, as expected the Taksim Square having a concert and full of people. Nevertheless, I did not wait until the midnight and continue to explore more about the city after dropped by there for a moment. I continue walked down to the Beyoglu a great place like Taksim and ended at the Golden Horn. From there I took a Tram back to hotel.

The Turkey Trip of 2006...
....hey bro...i didnt know that u got a travel blog.....i did really enjoy reading and brought me all those memories on my first trip in Turkey....especially that 4 hr delay in the airport....hehehehe....nice blog bro...cheers :)
