While hiking up the Masada and in the wadis of Ein Gedi we camped and slepped at the Ein Gedi Beach at the Dead Sea during the nights. After two days of hiking we spent the third day at the beach, relaxing, covering ourselves in mud and floating in the Dead Sea.

The Dead Sea is really something special, the water is SUPER salty and it feels a little oily. Very weird to touch and it feels weird on the body when you get up from the water again. Here are the rules before entering the water:
- don't shave 2-3 days before you go in the water
- the smallest scratch will sting and burn, so watch out
- make sure you don't put your head under water or get a single drop in your eyes

Before I went to the Dead Sea I wondered if the mud and the water really had a healing effect on the skin. Two days later I noticed how soft and smooth my skin was, so it's true what they say about the sea.
The mud we used we found on the shore of the sea, there were small mudcaves that you could dig in. You have to know where to find these though, cause they are not everywhere.

The surface of the Dead Sea is 422metres below sea level.
