Today was a day off...to break into small groups and go back and explore Jerusalem on foot. We returned to the Garden of Gethsemane, Garden Tomb, Mount of Olives, the City of David, the West Wall....and spent a great deal of time wandering through the seemingly endless shops of Old Jerusalem. The Burnt House Museum recreates the fall of Jerusalem as lived by a family of Kohanim who served as priests in the Second Temple. A very emotional multimedia, sound and light presentation leaves with the viewer an impression of what it may have been to live through the destruction of the Temple.
