We in Scotland 24 to 28 November and it had snowed so much that there was a good covering on the hills, but had melted so it was ok to drive (we have hired a car, Peugeot, diesal, new).

We were on a pilgrimage to Laurie's ancestral home and we found it! "Strath" means valley and "Dee" is the name of the river that runs into AberDEEn, past Royal DEEside aka Balmoral.

We found a good community project: a castle in Braemar which was just being closed for winter and will be restored by the village. Some years ago when concrete was popular, it was clad in concrete render. That render is now falling off, and needs to be replaced! it is a 50 year project!

We visited Margaret and Jim and the girls in Aberdeen and George Ironside in Edinburgh.
