Stan with his wheels Renault Megane outside our home while in Nth Ireland After many months of planning we were finally on our way, leaving Oz for four months. As most of you know it was touch and go for awhile. After reaching Sydney, finding our way to hotel, having something to eat etc., we were settling in for the night when I realised Stan's suitcase had Danielle Keogh on it!! Poor Alan had to race back to the Airport and sort. Hopefully poor Danielle Keogh was not already halfway around the world. Apparently it had the same coloured strap as Stan's! We were able to laugh about it the next day with Bill and Les as we met for a coffee before heading to airport. The flight over was great on the new Virgin Airbus. Stan managed the journey okay but was not well on first night back in Belfast and poor Alan (again) spent his first night back in his hometown rushing through the streets of Belfast in an Ambulance. Stan is going great now. The heatwave ended as we touched down in Belfast and we've had a lot of rain since with some local flooding, though not as bad as some of the areas in England. My favourite room letting us use their lovely bungalow at Bangor which is on the coast about 20min drive from Belfast at the southern side of the entrance to the Lough. They have just moved into a new home themselves and have been wonderful letting us use this place. Everything is laid on for us, food in the fridge etc. we're very spoilt. The bungalow is handy to the town centre and there is some great walks around the area. We usually stay here a few nights, then back down to Belfast to Stan's for a few nights. We have been spending our time catching up with family, refreshing ourselves with the city by using the great public transport system, eating way too much cake and breads(I think I will do a blog just on the Breads!), helping Stan get settled back in and spring cleaning for him, checking out the odd village pub, walking a lot and yes we have found and visited 4(four)Bridge Clubs. One of them had prize money from when we played here two years ago!(which also happened two years ago) Jonathan and Pip are also home from Oz so it's been Wonderful meeting our new great niece, Erin.
Margaret and Dave
Marg outside Walmer Grove with her Audi Soft top, such a variety of cars here that you don't see at home She has the largest blue eyes. It's been also great watching her big brother Caleb catching up with his Irish cousins Zak and Jake. Margaret and Dave and all the family have headed over to Turkey for a week in the sun. So we're keeping on eye on their place while they are away Alan's big brother David has become a prolific painter, when his not out chasing the little white ball. He's already given Alan a lesson, as Alan's always fancied himself as a bit of an artist. We shall be bringing home a few landscapes by DB. Like Alan he's enjoying retirement. Both Jill and David are mad golfers but also keep busy with grandkids, Frazser, Jordon and Brandon. It's the summer holidays so the schools out for a couple of months. Well that's about it for "Settling-in" will try and cover a few local places of interest etc next time. Bye Bye for now -

14th July 2007 01:34 - Michelle: YEAH!!!So glad you started the blog...you did a great job on the first one. It's pretty easy to operate...if you want to delete a photo, go to photos, scroll down, and you can delete it via the photo...or edit etc. Same with the journals, you can edit these also. People will love reading about your adventures in the green land. We just got back from our full day tour...Izzy is a bit pissed...he tried EVERY wine...the first one had all complimentary tastings, and over 30 wines! We head out tomorrow, so will be in touch today, or from Vegas. Marg's house looks lovely...conservatory v cool. Over and out from California xxxxxx
