Moe's
Me, Jimmy and Mark, all aussies The time had come to sample some of the rest of this marvellous country, so i decided to pack my bag and head to the home of many mates of mine....Leeds. Much promise had been talked up about Leeds, but being me, forever sceptical about these things, especially when it comes from the English, who get excited when the sun comes out.
But before all this i have to fill you in on my town ( Thames ) first ever "Moes and Hoes" night. Organised by me and my mate Mark, also another aussie, it basically involved the men growing the dirtiest moustaches they could and the women dressing up like they would if they were working on street corners, makes for an interesting night. At the start of the night it was very laid back as people werent too sure whether or not this was a good idea, as the night was held in a pub with people trying to eat their dinners a mere 10 metres away. After the drinks got flowing however, things started to kick off nicely and the night was a huge sucess... So this at the end of night one, was at 4am.
Moes #2
Me, Jimmy and Mark, again, about half an hour later, messy... The next morning at 8 i was up and about to make the long journey to Leeds. About a week ago, it seemed like a good idea to book my way up there on this fab invention called "megabus". It has now come to my attention that anything mega, or value in this country is absolute dirt. Right down to the mega kebab at 3am, telling you folks stay away... this tightass is ready and willing to fork over the extra 10 pounds next time for the train.
So get to Leeds after the abrasive 5 hour bus ride, on an old double decker with no modern features except a toilet, which after 5 hours had well expired its used by date. Then the driver decides to take us on a tour of leeds through the one way system going the wrong way. I knew right then and there i was in for a good time.
Seeing Tommy "Twatman" for the first time since Sept 2004, when we almost got taken out by a hurricane in New Orleans, was one of the best things i have experieced in my time here. Shortly after one of the other
Moes and Hoes
Me and old mate, and a couple of hoes...gold greatest things happened too, when i saw Viki drinking a pint at the pub. Great times, they didnt last though when i found out that it was my pint she was drinking. Then Robbie showed up and that put a dampner on everything, just jokes mate love your work...
The first night in Leeds was quite tame considering the night to follow, but involved a lot of catching up around Leeds' finest establishments and its seediest. Robbie ended up high fiving the whole population of party starters, and then ended up stealing a lifetime supply of sugar and pepper from subway. good stuff, never know when you will need it.
The next day it was off to and early start, there was a beer festival starting at 12.30 and little time to waste. Sam from camp in 04 came up to see us and partake in a bit of taste testing at the local....Morris dancing/beer fest. After trying the first "real ale" hahaha , yeah right, i asked for ice cubes and the guy looked at me like i was about to cop a keg to the head. So i quickly ditched the ales, and headed over to
Laura
We just found her on the corner, hahah not really, a good effort... the larger tent, and slammed down a few of Englands finest.
Then it was onto a weatherspoons in central Leeds, more people than at the michael jackson trial were there, and we wasted no time in getting into the drinking games. At this stage there was me, twatman, viki, robbie, richie, sam and webby all from 04. Things got messy quickly and in no time it was like being at the CC, sans ron in his pj's chasing us out of the pub. The night moved onto many places and one of the best camp reunions was had in a long time.
Next morning it was off to the bus station at 9am for another great ride home which involved 5 hours to london on a bus this time without a toilet, what a pleasure.
Anyway thanks to all you Leeds folk, one of my best nights out in England since i have been here, if not THE best. Tommy cant wait to see u at camp, all you others there will be more good times ahead, promise it....
