Ode to Irene’s Tree
In Richmond Park a hawthorn thrives
Not far from where we lived our lives
Where stands the tree we oft passed by
Held hands and laughed no reason why
we should have seen the empty space
Where now the hawthorn full of grace
Grows strong beneath the sky above
A symbol of undying love.
