Welcome to our soon-to-be-awesome travel blog!

Only 4 weeks to go now until we set off on the adventure of our lives! We’ve still got a lot to do, things to buy and sell and lots of people to see before we leave. To be honest I’m starting to get a little nervous now about getting it all done in time!

Our current plan is to travel China and its special-administrative regions for 6-8 months, then back pack Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos - Thailand - Malaysia - Borneo - Singapore - Indonesia -Philippines - for the summer and head around to India - Burma - Nepal - Tibet - Bangladesh for Diwali in October/November time. We will then head to Oz/NZ for about a years work to save for our next leg in South America in 2012. Who knows, we might even fit in a jaunt back to the UK for our birthdays and xmas next year but time (and money!!) will tell!

I can’t wait to see how this actually pans out and look back on it in years to come at the “original plan” when we’re in Canada or Africa or something!

Anyway, this is just a short message to activate the blog and let you all know where you can see what we’re up to!

Have a great xmas and a pleasant new year! Hopefully see you on Friday the 8th for our leaving send off.

Hope you enjoy reading about our escapades,

Fenner and Sam

Hearnshaws hooray
Hi Sammy I haven't been to most of your places out East, but I have travelled a lot - down under; N and S America and Europe. I reckon Hearnshaws really have the adventure spirit. Good luck. My family tree calculator says that we are 6th cousins , 3 times removed. Our common ancestor was born 1666 in Derbyshire. Sandra

You never know I might be tempted to come and meet you in South America!! Sorry I couldnt make your send off, was trying to avoid the snow and get to Heathrow myself!! Look forward to seeing how you get on! Good Luck, and take care Laura xxxxxxxx

Hello Sandra - how very interesting to hear from you! I will have to pass along your details to my family back home as a few of them have been researching geneology in the last few years! When did you do your travels? I am hoping to be in south america in a year or so after I've been around Oz and NZ at the end of this year! All the best, Sam
