Fishing competition.
They were not amused as we motored past. 0 locks, 247 in total.
The Shropshire Union is a reasonably straight canal, very wide in places and almost impossibly narrow in others. One of the many wharves on the Shroppie.
Some private, some with services for passing boaters - definitely a well-served area. village is a delight. Even Speedwell Castle, an 18th century folly, didn't have its name displayed.
