This about a trip I took to Northampton in UK some time last year, to meet my internet photoclub members. The group had only been interacting online but never met each other. So it was kind of exiting to meet the group to put a face to their online 'nick' names. It was sometime in early April and the spring was just about in the air. I left Ireland on a early morning flight to Luton where Den, th... Read Full Entry

Medieval Church Then we all gathered and visited a wonderful church, may be a medieval one. We simply wandered around the cemetery. We then waked around a bit in the village. We came across thatched roof houses and pubs. Nice village and rather an expensive village I must say - Rich people own beautiful houses there. Lot of flowers blooming all over the fences of the houses. Margaret had great time clicking them.

Bollywood Buffet Chris and Henry bid farewell at about 5 pm. They had to drive back for 3 hours. So in the evening Den, Margaret, Ade, Steve, Alistair and myself went to this wonderful Bollywood Indian hotel. Ho man, the food was simply sumptuous. They charge a 10 pounds and you can eat the whole house if you can !. Great. We all simply tucked in. A bit of alcohol and things loosen up a bit and more relaxed. Great usefilm stories were splashed around. Sumptuous food, wonderful stories and Great time all around. What more can you ask for to the end the day. Well, you can ask for funny waiter I suppose ! This Indian chap was so funny. He was all flustered about digging a pond in his garden just because his girl friend wants one. He didn't want to do it but couldn't escape either. He went on and on about the difficulties of digging. Steve and Ade did their best to teach him some tricks. We all returned to Den&Margarets home for bit more chat. Then at about midnight Alistair bid good bye. He had to drive for 3 hours back at that hour !

Sunny Sunday On Sunday, finally the sun broke out of its cloud cover giving us a great day. Couldn't have asked for more. Den, Marg, Steve, Ade and myself visited the youth center for rafting and canoeing. This is an artificial man made canal for rafting. The water is pumped from the river into the canal which runs down a slop before reaching the river again. Great photo opportunity for some action shots. Nice lunch at home again. Steve and Ade left at 2pm. Then around 5 pm I bid farewell to Margaret, Den gave me lift to Luton airport to get my Dublin flight. Lovely visit

Lovely visit On the way back I thought - What a lovely visit I had. Even though we were all meeting for the first time - some how it felt that we all had known each other for ages. Perhaps there is bit of truth in that because we have known each other for a while. Its just that putting some face and personality to the person we already know of. Cool.
