This morning when we got up, we discussed our game plan. We can't check into the bed and breakfast until 2, and trains leave for Brighton every half hour. We are planning on going to go see Big Ben, St. Paul's, and Buckingham Palace before we leave for Brighton. Before Hyde Park, we went to St. Paul's Cathedral. We were going to go inside St. Paul's, but it cost 10 pounds, and we could see pretty much the whole cathedral from where we were standing, so we didn't spend the ten pounds. The second thing we saw in London was Hyde Park, as Kyle wanted to see the Princess Diana memorial. It was a lot farther away then we had thought. We probably walked around the whole park before we found it. Sarah didn't want to walk around with us, so she sat on a bench near where we entered the park and waited for us. While we were trying to find the memorial, we discovered a snowman being professionally photographed for something. I would not have wanted to be that snowman with how warm it was today. Hyde Park was gorgeous, and I loved just walking around it. We did eventually find the Princess Diana memorial, and I was very impressed by it. It was made so that people could actually enjoy it, and it was definitely not just something to look at. We hung out near the memorial for a while and then started walking back to Sarah. While we were walking back, we saw a procession of guards on horseback. We walked over to Buckingham Palace and discovered that there was some sort of rehearsal for the changing of the colors, so we were unable to see the guards and the changing ceremony since they had the streets around the palace blocked off. After taking some pictures, we started walking to Big Ben. On the way, we passed Westminster Abbey. Kyle and I had already been to Westminster Abbey, so we did not go again. I don't think Sarah really cared what we did at this point. We went to Big Ben, took some pictures, and walked around for a little while. After seeing Big Ben, we stopped by a Tesco to get some food before getting on the train. After eating lunch, we got back on the tube, went to the hotel, picked up our luggage, and started walking to the tube again. I did stop and get some stamps at the post office so that I could mail my post cards though. We just made the 3:05 train to Brighton, and we arrived there around 4. We could have walked to the guest house, but since it was raining, we decided to take a taxi. We arrived at the Bed and Breakfast, paid, and went to the room. I wanted to go out and explore tonight, but Kyle and Sarah want to stay in, so we will probably just end up staying in. 😞
