Snow
Recent snow fall and my new camera..... Well its official I am now technically homeless although I do have a roof over my head.
It is 35 days till I jet out of this country for Canada and I only have 14 days of work left after today I am just left sat wondering when it is feasible to start counting down the hours before I leave =;0)
I have had a productive few weeks and have been able to lay down a few more definite plans for my venture. Sharon came to visit and we were able to plan the part of the journey we will do together.
I have now booked my round the world flight and following my 5 weeks back in the UK I leave Manchester on the 4th May 2009 (subject to BA not canceling any more flights since till today I was flying out on the 3rd May) . Sharon is yet to book her flight however it is only days away before she does.... =;0)
As I said above Sharon and I spent a weekend together and planned the basic things that we both want to see, visit and do when we are in South America. Whether
Artistic image???
Trying to get clever with the new camera. we will get to fit it all in who knows but heres hoping.... Just to bore you the basics are:
Rio, Brazil
Foz do Iguazu, Brazil and Argentina
Buenos Aries, Argentina
Colonia del Sacramento (Only so we can add Uruguay on my passport and its an hr accross the water from BA)
Torres del Paine, Argentina - decide that we had to visit the end of the world
Trelew, Argentina - so Sharon can see the Whales off Argentina
Mendoza, Argentina - so we can drink our way through a few vineyards and I can potentially ski
Santiago, Chile - why not
Uyuni, Boliva - do a salt lake tour
Potosi, Bolivia - the must do silver mines as recommended by Lois!!
La Paz, Bolivia - the jury is out on cycling the most dangerous road but reckon we will do it in the end....
Lake Titicaca, Bolivia and Peru - enough they speaks for themselves
Huachachina, Peru - sandboarding is high on my hit list
Lima, Peru - just so Sharon can say she has been to the home of Paddington Bear!!
Quito, Ecuador - just so we can get to the Galapagos Islands
Galapagos Islands -.............................
All
The first taste of skiing
The Matterhorn from Cervinia, Italy. This was where my love of skiing started back in 2007!! this is going to be done with only one internal flight. Buses, Sharon and I will be best friends by the end of the trip.
The rest of the world will then beckon and am really looking forward to it although still keep going though moments of pooing my pants wondering what I'm doing =;0)
Anyway I here you cry what does the rest of your round the world trip hold.... Effectively the plan is:
A flight from Quito to Santiago to Auckland - which will prove very confusing as it will be an overnight flight to Santiago and an overnight flight to Auckland however during the second flight I will also lose a day of my life as I fly over the date line. So its likely to take me a day or two to get orientated once in New Zealand.
At one time I had wanted to call in at Easter Island however it worked out too expensive and impossible on my round the world ticket.
I am then going to hire a car and drive round the north and south islands of New Zealand for 4 weeks.
I will then fly onto Sydney and spend 2 weeks driving around and ending up in Melbourne.
From Melbourne I fly to Singapore and am planning on spending 4 weeks in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Mum and Dad are hoping to come out and visit me at some point during this period. I am also planning on gaining my PADI Open Water Diving Qualification.
Once I get myself to Bangkok, Thailand I will fly onto Hong Kong for 5 or so days and from there I fly to Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Once in South Africa I am intending to spend 4 weeks teaching deprived kids in Jeffreys Bay to swim and surf. Thereafter I will spend a couple of weeks traveling around South Africa and seeing things for myself.
I have promised my Mum that whatever happens I will be home for December 15th and with the itinerary above I have about 10 days leeway for me to change my plans slightly or decide that I want to spend more time in one place.....
It is still my intention to work a second ski season in Europe however this will very much dependent on being able to get a job, finances and being able to
Watch this space..........
